Heading Home

As much fun as vacation is it’s always nice to go home. Nothing compares to sleeping in your own bed. We left straight from the beach and headed toward home. This time we decided to drive on the Washington side of the Gorge. We didn’t stop at too many places because we just wanted to get home and the kids were over being in the car.
As with our trip down we stopped to camp, but this time we planned better and had propane for the stove. We stopped at Maryhill State Park for the night and finally got to roast our hotdogs and make S’mores.

Jack had fun playing in the dirt, watching tugboats and wind surfers on the river, and counting the ‘helicopters’ (aka Windmills)  up on the hill.

The second day we drove straight through only stopping when the kids needed a break. We got home in the early evening. We picked up pizza because there was nothing in the fridge and got home just in time to watch them combine the wheat field across street. Jack was so enthralled and refused to come inside so he and Kevin took dinner on the driveway.
