The Dying of the Eggs

Everybody is on the road to improvement after our pink eye and sinus infection adventure from the previous post. Kevin ended up getting pink eye from Jack and giving the sinus crud to me but we all seem to be on the mend for now.

Grandma Duchow has been down visiting us sickies for the week. It turned out to be a real blessing in disguise as there was somebody to play with Jack while Mom and Dad were under the weather and he was unable to go to daycare. We managed to have some fun all together despite the all the germs....we dyed Easter Eggs!

While Grandma is a follower of the traditional dying method, Jack has his own 'hands-on' approach. You dunk the egg, your hand, and half your arm into the dye.

Then you pull the egg out and lick it to see if it's done.

Vinegar is not so tasty as it turns out.

Kevin tried a marbling technique by adding a tablespoon of vegetable oil to his dye...there were mixed results from this method.

Still, anything that makes a good mess is always fun!

These are our beautiful Easter Eggs for 2010.
