Spring Broke, But the Bunny Kept on Going...Part 2

So much for posting this last week... Better late than never I suppose.

This week Holy Week (week leading up to Easter) and Spring Break collided so the latter half of Spring Break was spent doing some Easter activities. Both kids are pretty adept at Egg dying and need minimal help anymore. Now it's mostly getting them to slow down and showing them different techniques (you know you can dye your egg more than one color??)

Saturday morning we woke up to a solid coat of snow on the ground to which Jack moaned, "But it's Spring Mom!!" Aaaah, Welcome to Idaho my dear boy! I had only put the hats and gloves away the week before so it was easy enough to snag them out of the closet and head off the the Egg Hunt at Clover. This is just about the only Egg Hunt I'll consent to taking the kids to. Not to big, not to small, and everyone is well mannered, polite, and helpful. Afterwards there are crafts, and hot coffee (much appreciated this year) in the basement of the school.

Easter Sunday you never would have guessed it snowed the day before. It was over cast and a bit breezy, but not a lick of the white stuff in sight. Jack seemed to think it was Christmas all over again. He was up at 3am to see if the Bunny had come, and 4am, and 5am, at which point Kevin told him not to get out of bed again until Mom got up. Thankfully Emilie sleeps like a rock.....

By 7:30 it was off to breakfast and Easter services at church followed by the annual Egg Hunt for the kids. This year Kevin and I thought we should do something for our older kids to (Confirmand age and up) as they do a lot of work host the Easter breakfast and egg hunt for the little ones. So we designed them an extra hard hunt with monetary rewards. I had a hard time finding eggs that would blend with the scenery so I painted some myself. Must have done pretty well too as there is still one that is MIA.

.

All around it was a pretty good week. Busy as can be, but we accomplished a lot and had a good time while we were doing it.
