Sorry for the delay I was out of town for 10 days starting on St. Patrick’s Day and didn’t have access to my blog writing program. Better late than never they say right?? Here is a summary of the rest of the Leprechaun’s shenanigans. Here is a link to Part 1 in case you forgot or missed it somehow.
Now let’s see, where did we leave off…..night seven I think.
Night seven the Man of the House left for a weekend fishing trip and the lady of the house was left alone. She sleeps pretty heavy so the Leprechaun went all out and made Jell-O. Leaving behind a mess and a taunting message ‘Can’t catch Me!!!’.

The next two nights the Leprechaun moved to the living room to make mischief. He liberated all our shoes one night and built Penguin a DVD igloo the other. The Penguin incident highlighted a unique difference in interests for my children. Emilie was concerned with rescuing the Penguin. Jack was concerned with making sure the Leprechaun hadn’t made of with any of his Mighty Machine DVDs.
As much as the kids enjoy the green footprints, none were ever found in the living room. The kids were bummed but I told them the Leprechaun probably know that if he put green footprints on the living room carpet he’d be in HUGE trouble with Mom….and you don’t want to cross Mom…ever….period. Smart man. He did follow up Sunday night with a huge front door mural complete with paint mess and green footprints and the kids were appeased. Mom liked the mural so much she decided to keep it. I mentioned in my first post how much the kids like cleaning up the Leprechaun messes, and my wanting the keep the mural did take some convincing as they wanted to wash those windows down really bad.
The next week brought a variety of messes and pranks all thanks to the Leprechaun. The dining room got “TP’d” in green streamers. He snuck into the pantry and switched out the breakfast cereal for macaroni. One night he decided to make popcorn and it ‘exploded’ all over the kitchen. Legos were ‘borrowed’ from the kids’ room while they slept and manipulated into a St. Patty’s design. Then he hosted a wild party with all the stuffed animals in the house that involved making a tower out of the dining room chairs. I won’t even mention the tractor races…..
Finally we reached the night before St. Patrick’s day. The kids had prepared Leprechaun traps which they baited with some gold Sacajawea dollars borrowed from Mom. They were sure they would catch him. Jack put his trap in the middle of the living room. Emile chose the bathroom…..
Did they catch him? No, they’d didn’t. Mom sadly is out $6 in Sacajawea dollars. Tricky Leprechaun. He did reward them for their effort though by leaving them Skittles in the traps…or maybe they’d just really scared him and that’s Leprechaun poop.
On his way out the back door he left the kids a special Leprechaun breakfast complete with chocolate gold coins, tattoos, and balloons.
They were completely thrilled….then they poured milk into their cereal and found the Leprechaun had left them one last surprise. The milk magically turned green when it hit the bowl. Naughty Leprechaun!!!
