Friday was a milestone birthday for Kevin…he turned 30! (yes, for those keeping track I am only a mere 1 month & 3 days older than my dear husband). So since he is now ‘old’ like me we celebrated in style.
Kevin has a standing rule to not work on his birthday unless there are extenuating circumstances. Not a bad rule if you ask me. Since he was off all day we dropped the kids at preschool and went out to breakfast at the Depot Grill. This is the first time we’ve been to this restaurant and it landed in the top 5 of local breakfast venues for us.
After we stuffed ourselves to the gills we checked out some of the local pawn shops and The Happy Camper. The pawn stores were visited for mere curiosity and the Happy Camper was seen in order to drool over all cast iron and Dutch oven accessories. Kevin ended up getting a new 14” Dutch oven a convection cover for cooking with Dutchies on a propane burner (basically we can now cook Dutch oven style on the BBQ without charcoal briquettes).
We picked up the kids and basically took it easy for the rest of the day. Well, we did do our Insanity workout, since Sean-T does not take a holiday just because it’s your birthday…but other than that.
We splurged on Chinese food for dinner and topped it off with Birthday Apple Pie and cookie dough ice cream. Kind of made me glad we did exercise after all that yummy food!
Kevin wants to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes and he’s looking forward to what 30 has to bring.
