Two Months Already!?

It seems hard to believe (at least for me) but Emilie turned two months old yesterday.  I guess somewhere between caring for a newborn, chasing a toddler, and trying to keep up with housework the time just slips away.

Today was Emilie’s big Two Month WBV (well baby visit). She weighed in at 10lbs 12oz and was 23 inches tall. That is 3lbs 3oz and 2.5inches more than when she was born. What I find really astonishing though is its only 11oz and 1/2 an inch more than Jack was when he was born! I look at her and think, “My Lord, he was a HUGE newborn!!” At the time he seemed so tiny. Funny how perspective changes things.

Aside from growth stats, Emilie is developing nicely. She’s right on track with her motor skills. She even rolled over from her stomach to her back twice. At her appointment she was cooing and smiling; doing her best to wrap everyone around her fingers.

But despite all her cuteness, they still insisted on giving her those pesky shots. Three altogether plus one oral vaccine. She screamed like a banshee initially, but recovered once she was picked up. They say no good deed goes unpunished, and Emilie made good by peeing all over the exam table when they were checking her over. This was after she loaded her diaper on the way back from being weighed. The kid was giving it all she had. What a feisty one!
