Happy Valentine’s day to you all. The highlight by far this year was making sugar cookies with Jack. He helped mix up dough, cut out hearts, and frost them.
He also did a lot of taste testing in the process (you can never be too sure that they will be yummy enough right?)
Frosting them was his favorite part. In hindsight I was very glad that I bought two tubes of gel icing. One for me and most of the cookies, and one for Jack and the two cookies he frosted. He also used sprinkles with just as much gusto.
On Valentine’s day itself we celebrated with a surf n’ turf dinner, that has become something of a tradition in our little family. This year was steak, shrimp, and scallops with asparagus. Mmmmmmm, makes me hungry just thinking about it.
