A Merry “Mo-Town” Christmas

Once upon a time I had a nice detailed post about our Christmas planned but seeing as we are over a week into the new year It’s now being curtailed to something shorter.

You may not have heard, but the great Northwest is experiencing a rather mild winter. Not much snow has fallen around here, but while the ranchers are rejoicing saving $400+/day in feeding costs for livestock they are eyeing the bare mountain slopes with trepidation. So while we too keep hoping for a boost to the snowpack or a nice wet spring, we also took advantage of the nice weather and clear mountain passes to ‘go home’ for Christmas.

The decision was a bit last minute….as in the Tuesday before Christmas. It was also decided that it would be really great to surprise the folks. Yup, that’s right…we did not tell them we were coming. Ooh, were they surprised when Jack walked through the door (we sent him in first) on the 23rd. There was that moment of staring and shock, then it all registered. I think they really liked their ‘gift’. Now to figure out how to top that next year. ;-P

Cory & Julie arrived a few hours after us so there was a big group for Christmas Eve. Emilie loved all the wrapping paper and ribbon. When you are 8 months old it’s about what’s on the box, not in the box. Jack has really gotten the hang of gift opening and opened all of his gifts, and most of Em’s, with glee. I think the pictures say it best, so I will leave you with those.
